DIY Aquaponics DVD

Front DVD Case

We’re very excited about this next DVD offering from aquaponics guru Murray Hallam because it’s something that he’s been asked to do continually over the years by many people who want to build their own aquaponics system on the cheap from recyclable containers.

Murray estimates about 80% of the calls he gets are from DIY people keen to get  started in Aquaponics but aren’t exactly sure how to begin.

They are after a robust quality system on a budget with components that are available anywhere in the world.

So in early 2010 Murray began to tinker with tote tanks. Also known as IBC’s, these tanks are commonly available around the world to move a variety of commercial liquids.

Murray has implemented his CHOP2 design with these tanks to enable it  to be built over a weekend by the home handyman. In fact every tool used is discussed on the DVD. The advantages of CHOP2 are obvious and Murray felt that a CHOP2 system would also help eliminate problems for beginners if their tanks were not perfectly level. The DIY Aquaponics DVD will show Murray actually selecting 3 IBC tanks and you will watch him dismantle the wire cage from the plastic tank as he wields various tools from a skill-saw to an angle grinder to cut and rebuild these IBC’s into an effective fish and vegetable production system.

“The DVDs will not only explain how to build your aquaponics system, but how to look after it from start to finish.”

We’ve decided to also incorporate our other proposed DVD title  Aquaponics: The First 12 Months together with DIY Aquaponics. Together the DVDs will not only explain how to build your aquaponics system, but how to look after it from start to finish.

DIY Aquaponics

You will see Murray release tiny fingerlings into the system and watch them grow over the year until its time to harvest the fish.

As Murray says “There’s no trick photography in this DVD.”
We actually spent closer to two years working on this one DVD title documenting its progress and going back to explain some little known detail. So the two titles on the one DVD are excellent value.

We know occasionally people get stuck with siphons and how to build them. That’s why with each DVD sold, web details will be given to where to download detailed plans that accompany the  DVD. So you can watch the DVD at your leisure and then build your aquaponics system once you have sourced all the components.

Now if you can’t find certain types of valves or need a particular part, don’t worry as Murray can supply you with every component if needed. You can order the parts from his website.

Back DVD Case

Murray Hallam has spent a long time testing and implementing CHOP2 to make sure it will work with ease for you.

In fact he even built a glass autosiphon for the film so you can see exactly what happens to the water as it gets recycled in your new system.

And then there’s his famous strawberry towers that are also implemented in this CHOP2 system.

This DVD just gets better and better as we like to keep adding lots of innovative features that you will be knocked out watching, learning and building.

DIY Aquaponics will be available from Murray’s website and nominated dealers in the USA in February 2011.

The duration will be around the 2 hour mark making it one of the most extensive Aquaponics DVDs that we’ve released so far.

We always like to exceed and build on the quality of our past efforts.

DIY Aquaponics is sure to be a great DVD to add to your collection.

Built by people who love doing Aquaponics.
